Mustafizur Rahman, affectionately known as 'Fizz' among his teammates, is a left-arm fast-medium bowler hailing from Satkhira, Bangladesh. Born on September 6, 1995, Rahman's journey to cricketing stardom has been nothing short of remarkable.

Having showcased his bowling prowess at a young age, Rahman's talent was quickly recognized by selectors, earning him a spot in Bangladesh's Under-19 team for the 2014 World Cup. His impressive performance in the tournament paved the way for his inclusion in Bangladesh A's series against West Indies.

Rahman's breakthrough came in 2015 when he made his debut for the Bangladesh national team, making an immediate impact in both T20Is and ODIs. In his debut T20I match against Pakistan, he dismissed Shahid Afridi and Mohammad Hafeez, announcing his arrival on the international stage. In ODIs, he made history by becoming the second bowler, after Zimbabwe's Brian Vitori, to claim two five-wicket hauls in his first two matches.

The year 2016 marked Rahman's entry into the Indian Premier League (IPL) when he was picked up by the Sunrisers Hyderabad at the auction. In his debut season, he played a pivotal role in Sunrisers' title-winning campaign, capturing 17 wickets in 16 matches.

Since then, Rahman has been a sought-after asset in the IPL, representing various franchises including Mumbai Indians, Rajasthan Royals, Delhi Capitals, and as of 2024, the Chennai franchise. Known for his deceptive variations and astute bowling tactics, Rahman has amassed 61 wickets in 57 IPL matches, showcasing his prowess in the shortest format of the game.

Off the field, Rahman has also made headlines for his involvement in leagues such as the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), NatWest T20 Blast, and Pakistan Super League (PSL), further solidifying his reputation as a formidable bowler on the global stage.

Despite his on-field heroics, Rahman has had his fair share of controversies, notably a collision with MS Dhoni during his debut ODI against India in 2015, which resulted in penalties for both players.

In the IPL auction history, Rahman's value has consistently been recognized, with franchises showing keen interest in securing his services. Over the years, he has commanded prices ranging from 1.00 Cr to 2.20 Cr, reflecting his stature as one of the premier bowlers in the league.

As Rahman continues to mesmerize cricketing fans with his crafty bowling and remarkable performances, he remains a shining example of Bangladesh's cricketing talent and a force to be reckoned with in the world of cricket.
